|Missing clinical codes
| style="text-align: left" |On the 30th October EMIS released an update to their system which provided us with a large extract of missing EMIS clinical codes, effecting circa 1.5 million records across all the EMIS practices in the DDS. This has meant that all the EMIS extracts that have been processed by the DDS, are now being re-processed where the missing codes have been identified, to apply these missing codes to the data. This has in turn had a knock-on effect with our inbound data processing queues and has resulted in a back log of daily deltas in the queues waiting to be processed across multiple practices for TPP, EMIS and Vision. LHS are doing all that they can to process the data through the queues as quickly as possible.

|Missing clinical codes
| style="text-align: left" |On the 30th October EMIS released an update to their system which provided us with a large extract of missing EMIS clinical codes, effecting circa 1.5 million records across all the EMIS practices in the DDS. This has meant that all the EMIS extracts that have been processed by the DDS, are now being re-processed where the missing codes have been identified, to apply these missing codes to the data. This has in turn had a knock-on effect with our inbound data processing queues and has resulted in a back log of daily deltas in the queues waiting to be processed across multiple practices for TPP, EMIS and Vision. LHS are doing all that they can to process the data through the queues as quickly as possible.

Publishing Data Feed to Subscribers

There may be a small delay to some subscriber feeds for the next 48 hours, as an issue with the data pipeline occurred over the weekend, which has now been rectified. There has been no loss in data, however but it has caused a minor delay to the processing of several feeds into the DDS and on to subscribers. This is affecting Adastra, Barts Datawarehouse, BHRUT, EMIS, TPP, and Vision data.

Homerton ADT

Homerton have upgraded their TIE and are now running on new servers, but as we were not aware of this, this has stopped any ADT data being published by Homerton via the HL7 feed as the IPs have now changed.

After further investigation by the hosting team, the new server IPs from Homerton have replaced the existing IPSec tunnel IP, so further work is needed to rectify this with the Homerton IT department. As the existing Homerton VPN is on ubuntu16, which is no longer supported, we have taken the decision to build a new instance on a supported version of Ubuntu, and create a new tunnel with Homerton, to the new IPs.

This change will result in downtime and is not expected to be completed until Monday 5th July 2021. During this period, no data will be received from Homerton. Although the data is not being received, messages are being queued with Homerton so no data will be lost.

Resolved - The new VPN and tunnel is now online and ADT messages are being received from Homerton. We expect the backlog of ADT messages to be transformed into the DDS by the end of 06/07/2021.

Amazon Web Services (AWS)

We are aware of an issue inside amazon eu-west, affecting a handful of the DDS servers. Upon further investigation, we have found that Core02, one of the main internal FHIR stores, is down and has halted the data transform into and out of the DDS. This is affecting the live ADT feeds and the EMIS data. The Vision and TPP data that was received earlier has already passed through end-to-end processing, so is not affected.

This will also have a knock-on effect to the remote subscriber databases that receive ADT and EMIS data, as we are unable to process any new data until this is back online.

Our hosting team are closely monitoring the situation and we will update our customers as soon as we have more information.

Resolved - AWS have resolved the issue and the affected DDS servers are now online. The DDS will now commence with receiving and transforming todays data, which should be completed overnight, however we will provide a further update if this is not the case.

Unknown codes received in the EMIS extracts are not transformed into the DDS, so data items using these codes will not be transformed at this time (although all other received data will continue to be processed as normal). As we are unaware of what these codes are for, we can't say what the impact of this information not being transformed will be.

We have requested the required information from EMIS and once received, the recently omitted data will be transformed.

This will affect customers using a Discovery Data Service Remote Subscriber Database. Please review the notification below and contact your Account Manager if you have any queries.

Notification from EMIS Health as follows:

EMIS are required to undertake essential maintenance on the underlying architecture supporting Bulk Extract Interface in order to maintain service performance and availability, and keep within the boundaries of their support agreements with vendors.

This work is being planned to take place urgently over this coming Bank Holiday weekend, with the expectation that this will minimise disruption. The work is expected to take up to four days whilst we work with the system vendors (Microsoft and HPe) carrying out the maintenance.

As a result, EMIS do not expect to generate any extracts from 28th August – 31st August inclusive. When extract generation restarts on 1st September, there will be a risk of a reduced service and suspension of bulk and rebulks for up to 1 week whilst the extract servers catch up with the data processing. No data will be lost.

EMIS apologise for the disruption that this may cause, it is unfortunately unavoidable and wholly necessary to ensure future service continuity.

We will send a further communication once the work has completed.

9 February 2021 Failed transformation The data has failed inbound transform. This is currently being investigated.

Resolved -The data contained a non-valid Read2 code that also wasn't a valid Vision local code. The code has been changed to handle non-valid Read2 and Vision codes.

30 June 2021 Homerton ADT - no data received Data hasn't been received for the Homerton ADT feed since 07:47:15 on 30/06/21. This has been raised with the relevant team to investigate.

Resolved - The new VPN and tunnel is now online and ADT messages are being received from Homerton. We expect the backlog of ADT messages to be transformed into the DDS by the end of 06/07/2021.
