Data Sharing Manager/Organisations

Organisations in Data Sharing Manager are defined by an organisation data service (ODS) code and include GP practices and other healthcare providers. Organisations can be publishers and/or subscribers, and can include one or more services. Use Data Sharing Manager to view, manage, or add organisations.

Use this section to help you to:

View organisations

  1. Access Data Sharing Manager.
  2. If required, in the Navigation side menu, click Organisations.
    Click next to Name to order the organisations and use the page navigations to show more rows per page or to easily access another page.

View organisation details

  1. View organisations.
  2. Click the link of the required organisation.
  3. If required, click the tab links to display for one or more of the following:
    • Addresses
    • Regions
    • DPA publishing to
    • DSA publishing to
    • DSA subscribing to
    • Child organisation
    • Parent organisations
    • Services
    The number of items is displayed next to each tab link.
  4. If required, click the link of the required item to view further details.

Edit an organisation

You can only edit existing details if you have the correct user and project permissions. If you do not have the correct permissions, the edit functionality is not available to your user.
  1. View organisation details.
  2. Click to edit the selected organisation. The Organisation details dialog box is displayed.
  3. If required, edit one or more of the following:
    • Organisation name
    • ODS code
    • ICO code
    • IG toolkit status
    • Alternative name
    • Organisation type
    • Date of registration
    • System supplier
    • System supplier reference
    • System supplier sharing activated
  4. Click Save organisation.
  5. If required, in one or more of the item tabs, do one of the following:
    • Click to add a new item, in the Add dialog box, select one or more of the available items, and then click Add selected.
    • Select one or more of the existing items, click , and then, in the Remove dialog box, click Remove.
      Use the parent checkbox to select or deselect all items.

Add a new organisation

You can only add a new organisation if you have the correct user and project permissions. If you do not have the correct permissions, the edit functionality is not available to your user.
  1. View Organisations.
  2. Click .
    The Organisation details dialog box is displayed.
  3. In Organisation name, type the name of the new organisation.
  4. In Organisation type,use the dropdown menu to select the relevant organisation type.
  5. If required, edit one or more of the following:
    • ODS code
    • ICO code
    • IG toolkit status
    • Alternative name
    • Date of registration
    • System supplier
    • System supplier reference
    • System supplier sharing activated
  6. Click Save organisation.
  7. If required, in one or more of the item tabs, do one of the following:
    • Click to add a new item, in the Add dialog box, select one or more of the available items, and then click Add selected.
    • Select one or more of the existing items, click , and then, in the Remove dialog box, click Remove.
      Use the parent checkbox to select or deselect all items.

Create a new service based on an existing organisation

You can only create a new service if you have the correct user and project permissions. If you do not have the correct permissions, the create service functionality is not available to your user.
  1. View organisation details.
  2. Click to create a service form the selected organisation.
    The details of the selected organisation are copied and the Service details screen is displayed.
  3. Click to edit the new service.
    The new service is displayed in Services.
